Where to celebrate National Donut Day in Tampa Bay

Our home region offers plenty of options for celebrating breakfast's favorite pastry. Cover photo provided by Datz.

Whether you’re a traditional glazed lover, a chocolate sprinkle savant or the friend who will drive an hour for a cronut, there’s one thing that always rings true when it comes to this dessert — there’s something for everyone.

To celebrate this sweet holiday, we’re sharing a round-up of local donut shops:

Start off with brunch staple Datz for creative presentations and flavor combinations that taste like nostalgia. Located on MacDill Avenue in South Tampa.

Gluten-free and vegan friendly shop Hale Life Bakery is filled with donuts, baked goods and frozen treats you can save for later. Check out their page for a list of locations.

Nicolas Donuts is our go-to establishment for all of the classics! They’ve been slinging handmade donuts since 1982 and if you ask us, they’ve mastered the trade. Located on Busch Boulevard in Tampa.

Head to Lakeland for a true mom and pop shop donut experience. Hole in One is a local favorite.

If you’re lucky, you may be able to get your hands on what Get Along, a get-them-before-they’re-gone donut pop-up, has to offer. Located inside of Pickford Sundries.

For our mini donut fans — this one’s for you! Especially if you’re in the mood to sample more than one flavor. Simply Done Donuts is located in Tampa (and Atlanta).

Tag your favorite local donut shop in the comments on our social media feeds. Happy celebrating!
